Dutch competitor eliminated from Eurovision 2024 just hours before the grand final


Controversy and unexpected developments during the contest are commonplace in the Eurovision Song Contest. 

The nearly 70-year-old annual singing competition has been utilized to entertain a range of outrageously dressed competitors, promote awareness of invaded nations, and inspire a 2020 film starring Will Farrell and Rachel McAdams. 

The organizers of the event, however, explain that misbehavior is where they draw the line, which is why Dutch singer Joost Klein was removed from Eurovision 2024 a few hours before he was scheduled to compete for the crown. 

The pro-European techno song "Europapa," which Klein, a 26-year-old singer and rapper from Leeuwarden, Netherlands, dedicated to his late father, has delighted fans. He was scheduled to participate in the finals on Saturday.
